THA V BRU ( Pool ) 2016 Women Hockey World League Round 1 - Singapore (SIN)

Report from Singapore Hockey Federation
Thailand continue good run with a comfortable win over Brunei
Thailand kept their sights on qualifying to the next round as they brushed aside Brunei 7-0 in the early evening kick-off at Sengkang Hockey Stadium on 10 April.
Bouncing back from their defeat against Hong Kong the day before, Brunei started the game with more character and determination by creating several attempts to go forward especially in the second half.
On the other side of the pitch, Thailand remained dominant and came close to scoring in the 12th and 13th minute of the game, with both shots going just wide. Kanya Jatntapet's beautiful curling shot in the 15th minute hit the back of the net but was not counted as it was outside of the D.
The Thais finally made the breakthrough in the first half with a well taken shot by Kornkanok Sanpoung in the 17th minute.
It was 3-0 by to the Thais by half-time, as Wongkeaw scored from a penalty corner in the 31st minute before Khuiklang tripled Thailand's lead in the 32nd minute.
Brunei's custodian Haji Fatimah made several excellent reflex saves to thwart Thailand in the first half, including one effort where she deflected Ornpanee Watcharoen's close range shot in the final minute of the half.
The Thais started off the second half intent on finishing off any chance of a Brunei comeback. Khuiklang fired home from a penalty corner in the 46th minute, before a goal in the 46th minute by captain Tikhamporn Sakunpithak further widened the deficit for Brunei.
Brunei's custodian suffered from a lapse in concentration by failing to save well during a penalty corner goal by Thailand in the 49th minute, allowing Jantapet Kanyan to pounce on the ball and poke it home with ease.
Despite being 6-0 down, Brunei continued to work hard to break into the Thai half. A long pass Norassikin in the 61st minute eventually found its way to Shahibulbahri Shazwani in the D, but the Bruneian's shot was well saved by Thai substitute keeper Alisa Narueangram.
Jongjit Boonmee's shot from inside the D in the 65th minute completed Thailand's rout of Brunei to take the final score to 7-0.
The performance by Brunei custodian Haji Fatimah was probably the brightest point in this one-sided match, but the day belonged to Thailand as they grabbed a well-deserved second win in the Women's Pool.
